Balance your mind as well as your body

You may already work on your physical wellbeing but it’s equally important to work on your mental wellbeing too. And yes, you can definitely improve it by building certain healthy habits into your lifestyle.

Helping you with your mental health is, to me, one of, if not the most important part of what I do. Those of you who know me know that my family and I have experienced a number of mental health challenges in recent years. My dad’s attempted suicide back in the summer of 2020 (I’m very happy to say he’s now much better and back to his old self, terrible jokes included), and the two miscarriages Lou suffered very close together not long afterwards (wonderfully, I’m delighted to tell you that we now have a beautiful little boy called Lennie) mean we really do understand what it can feel like when things get on top of you.

I regularly teach courses to Personal Trainers, businesses, and the general public about exercise and healthy lifestyles for mental health. I also work with a number of clients dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression. This allows me to listen to what many people go through when faced with these conditions, and learn how I can best be of assistance when it comes to managing them.

PT with Paul has changed my life!! I have had an eating disorder for 15 years. Paul has helped me both mentally and physically in understanding how to use exercise in a positive way and actually achieve the results I wanted rather than exercising like mad and achieving nothing but frustration.

Articles on mental health

The blog articles I’ve written here aim to help you to better understand these conditions, manage them more effectively if you have had a diagnosis, or help to lessen the likelihood of them occurring in the first place.

The aim is to leave you feeling less stressed, less anxious, more positive, energised, calmer, clearer thinking and all-round better balanced.
